3rd Floor Apartment Fish Tank

I recently two days ago switched over to a 75 gallon marineland planted discus tank i should have thought about this earlier but i didn t consider if a 75 gallon tank 48 x 18 x 21 approx 750lbs would be too much weight for my floor to handle.
3rd floor apartment fish tank. I ve had a 165 gal glass tank in my 3rd floor apartment before. For example a 50 gallon tank is only 36 lx15 dx20 h. Apartment aquariums can liven up any decor and provide you with some company in even the smallest of living spaces both saltwater fish and freshwater fish are relatively simple to take care of and can make attractive compelling pets. Mine was square shaped so no matter how you arrange it it will sit over the same number of joists really.
Now the aquarium is causing the floor to bounce actually your aquarium is doing the exact opposite. But at about 8lb gallon the tank would weigh around 400lbs once it was set up nathan. A hose on the return pump came loose and the pump pumped the sump dry shooting water out of the stand. But since i m on the 2nd floor i m thinking that weight would be a limiting factor before physical size height width and depth would.
Im on 16th floor concrete floors and tanks are up against outside wall of apartment main apartment hallway on other side of wall which is concrete also. My floor was doing fine until i put that 75 gallon aquarium in the room. It s a small apartment so a huge tank would look out of place. Put it against a load bearing wall.
The stationary weight of your aquarium is acting to dampen some of the floor vibrations due to foot traffic. I came home one day and there was a nasty note on my door and the sump was empty. Hi all i ve had a 55 gallon planted discus tank in my third floor condo for the past 1 5 years with no problems. It dumped probably 30 gallons onto the floor and into the old lady s apartment below.
I used to have a 150 gal fish only tank in a second floor apartment.
